Capital Gains Tax Deadline

Back in February 2020, it was announced that from 6 April 2020, if you’re a UK resident and sell a residential property in the UK you’ll have 30 days from completion to tell HMRC and pay any Capital Gains Tax owed. 

 

Within the Chancellors Budget on 27th October 2021, the 30 day period increased to 60 days for completion dates on or after 27th October 2021. The 30 day deadline remains in place for disposals which were completed before 27th October 2021.
